Ookuma Diamond Device (ODD) was founded to support the safe, sustainable decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi. It built the world’s only IDM for diamond semiconductors, raised over JPY 7.4B, and is constructing a pilot-scale plant in Okuma, Fukushima. Diamond devices beat other semiconductors in breakdown voltage, thermal conductivity, radiation tolerance, and power density, enabling extreme-environment next-gen space and defense systems and reinforcing secure dual-use supply chains.
